Ryt Bank review · October 2026Ryt Bank Review 2026: Rates, App Ratings and Real User Feedback
An honest look at Ryt Bank's 4% savings rate, what users on the App Store, Google Play and Malaysian forums say, and who it's really for.
By the editorial team · Updated 28 October 2026 · How we check facts
TL;DR
- Rate: 2.05% p.a. base, up to 4.0% p.a. on the first RM20,000 in Save Pockets if you keep collecting stamps.
- App ratings (28 Oct 2026): 4.8★ on the App Store (4,989 ratings) and 4.6★ on Google Play (9,023 ratings).
- Safety: licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia, PIDM-protected up to RM250,000.
- Watch out for: the 4% needs regular card or JomPAY use, and support is the most common complaint.
- Verdict: one of the best-reviewed bank apps in Malaysia right now. Great as a savings and daily-spend account; many users still keep a traditional bank alongside it.

What is Ryt Bank?
Ryt Bank is a Malaysian digital bank built by YTL Digital Capital and Sea Limited. There are no branches. Everything happens in the app, from opening the account (the bank says it can take as little as 2 minutes) to transfers, bill payments and its AI assistant, Ryt AI, which lets you send money by chatting or snapping a photo of bank details.
It launched in 2025 and grew fast. On its homepage the bank now says 1.5 million Malaysians bank with it. That's its own figure, but the app-store numbers back up the idea that a lot of people are using it.

Ryt Bank interest rates explained
This is the main reason most people sign up, so it's worth getting right.
| Balance | Rate | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Main Account and Save Pockets | 2.05% p.a., paid daily | None |
| First RM20,000 across Save Pockets | 4.0% p.a., paid daily | Complete a stamp card (bonus lasts 30 days) |
| New customers | 4.0% p.a. | First 30 days after activation |
Stamps come from spending at least RM10 with your Ryt Card or paying a JomPAY bill of RM10 or more. You get one stamp per day at most. Fill the card and the bonus runs for 30 days, then you start a new card.
So the 4% is real, but it's not passive. If you only park money and never spend from the account, plan on 2.05%. One Reddit user summed up the trade-off well:
“Ryt bank highest among the 3 with 4%, but need to make jompay payments of rm10 min daily 3x to maintain this on monthly basis, else default rate is 2.05%.”

What real users say
The good
“After trying out Ryt Bank, it has easily become the best digital banking app I’ve used.”
5★ · jinju69 · Apple App Store · 7 Oct 2026
“One of the better Malaysian digital banks at this time. User experience is great, snappy and clean UI, easy to navigate”
5★ · Google Play user · Google Play · 31 Jul 2026
“For me, Ryt has been the most reliable bank app for me.”
wira1979 (quoted in thread) · Lowyat.NET forum · Aug 2026
“The bulk of my emergency funds are in RYT due to the 4% p.a. I always keep my RYT debit card frozen when I'm not using it as an extra precaution.”
u/ShahLeClaire · r/MalaysianPF · Aug 2026
The not-so-good
“22.8.26 -still slow opening of app. No improvement at all. … Other than that love it especially the 4% interest save pocket”
4★ · Google Play user · Google Play · 22 Aug 2026
“The app is easy enough to use but every transaction eg payment by QR code gets an email notification . I do not need this”
1★ · App Store user · Apple App Store · 26 Oct 2026
“Please change the due date! Love the Pay Later option, but the 24th is way too early for a due date since most of us get paid at the end of the month.”
3★ · Google Play user · Google Play · 30 Aug 2026

The pattern is clear. People love the interface, the speed and the rate. The complaints cluster around app start-up speed, notifications, PayLater details and, more seriously, support when something goes wrong, such as a failed face check locking an account. Those cases are a minority, but they're the ones worth knowing about before you move big sums.

Is Ryt Bank safe?
From a regulatory point of view, yes. Ryt Bank is licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia and your deposits are protected by PIDM up to RM250,000 per depositor. It also uses biometric face-matching and real-time fraud monitoring. Most forum regulars keep somewhere between RM10,000 and RM20,000 in it, which lines up neatly with the 4% cap.
Who should open a Ryt account?
It suits you if you already pay bills and buy groceries by card and want those everyday payments to earn you a better savings rate. It's less ideal if you just want a set-and-forget account for a large sum. In that case, also look at GXBank's fixed-term pockets in our head-to-head.
